5 Timeless Copywriting Tips From Someone Who Hand-copied Ads for 365+ Days Straight
I started learning marketing 2 years ago. In 2021, I niched down to Copywriting. Since then…
For more than 365 days, I’ve hand-copied successful copywriting examples to see what makes them THAT good.
Here are 5 tips for writing copy that sells (with examples)
Tip 1: Don’t sell a product. Sell emotions.
Connect your copy with people in a way that makes them feel like money is the last thing to be bothered about.
Tip 2: Show, don’t tell.
If your product is so good that it stands out from the competition — don’t show USPs.
Sing its praises!
Tip 3: Communicate genuine value
For eg: The image below makes you feel like you can get cafe-level coffee in a seemingly cheaper can.
So ideally, the customer is getting the best coffee experience for fewer dollars. Win-win!
4. Speak to your one ideal customer like they’re sitting right in front of you.
Make your brand sound human, so people are less receptive when you actually sell them something.
5. Using humor is rarely a bad idea.
People tend to like someone almost instantly when you make them smile, laugh, or maybe just a little giggle.
