Copywriting: Where do the Best Messages Come from?
Copywriting is a game of research.
And research is a game of finding the best messages.
But where do the best messages come from?
Here’s where I find them, and you can too👇🏻
1. Youtube Comments
Sort by top comments.
And then by new comments.
Read people’s opinions and the way they phrase them.
Tells you a lot about your VOC (voice of customer).
I’ve literally picked up entire phrases directly from YouTube and pasted it in my copy.
2. Quora
Chances are someone has asked the exact same question that you want to ask your target audience.
That’s why Quora is so good.
Real people. Ask real questions. About real problems.
You can search by topic, keywords, or specific questions. It’s a gold mine.
3. Amazon
It’s the holy grail of product reviews. With great filters and variety, it’s the best place to search for brands, products, and competitors.
Pro tip: Look for 1–2 star reviews and fill the gaps in your copy with the objections found in those reviews.
4. Website
Testimonials and reviews displayed on websites are supreme. They do a good job of telling you the best bits.
You can easily find common themes. And then replicate them in your copy.
Pro tip: Go to FB Ads Library and find landing pages with tons of social proof.
5. Reddit
Reddit is the ultimate “as real as it gets” community forum.
It’s good to look for reviews and testimonials for products or services.
But you know what’s better? To look for opinions.
Pure, unfiltered opinions.
Not directed to anything specific. Try Reddit.
6. Review Sites
Websites like Trustpilot & Reviews(.) io are GOLDMINES.
Think of it like Amazon but less crowded and without salesy BS.
They only focus on what people ACTUALLY SAY about the products.
Giving you, the copywriter, room to explore public opinion to the fullest.
