The 7 Best Christmas Ads I Collected
I collect ads like I get paid for it.
This time it was for Christmas.
Looking back…these seven turned out to be the ones that blew me away:
Ad 1
One of the smartest ads I’ve ever seen. If you have a great command over language, even letter play can make up for a great idea.
Ad 2
Durex just knows how to entertain their audience all too well. And pairing it with a Christmas vibe is just a cherry on top.
Ad 3
Only Heinz can pull of a red Christmas tree because no one associates red as well with their brand as Heinz does.
Ad 4
Even Santa wears Jordans. One of my personal favourites because I’m clearly biases towards sneakers.
Ad 5
If it rhymes, it is a damn good reason to try it in your ads because rhyme means memorability.
Ad 6
Mercedes really pulled off a banger when they carved a Christmas tree on their car with just lighting play.
Ad 7
Tide kept it simple and subtle. The way it should be for a topical or season ad.
Two principles to remember from these ads…
When you’re creating ads for a seasonal trend or a topical:
Keep it simple and subtle
Follow the show, don’t tell rule
Don’t fit your brand into the seasonal context.
Fit the season into your brand’s context.
